Leominster Credit Union recently donated 100 new blankets to area veteran’s homes, homeless shelters and charities through their participation in the Massachusetts Credit Union League’s Community Hope Initiative.
John O’Brien, President and CEO of Leominster Credit Union was pleased with the generosity of the members and commitment of the staff to make this year’s blanket drive such a success. “We have participated in this event for five years and each year the employees strive to make it more successful than the last. This year we held a “Jean’s Day” and the money raised from that event went towards purchasing additional blankets. We’re proud of our employees; they take great pride in giving back to the community, one of the core values at LCU.”
LCU distributed blankets to the following area organizations: Armistice Homestead (Leominster), Heroes Homestead (Leominster), Ginny’s Helping Hands (Leominster), Our Father’s House (Fitchburg), Montachuett Interfaith Hospitality Network (Fitchburg), Battered Women’s Shelter (Leominster), Sterling Fire Department, Clinton Senior Center, Holden Senior Center, Veterans Inc. (Worcester) and Jeremiah’s Inn (Worcester)
LCU was one of twenty-three Credit Unions who participated in the Credit Union League’s Community Hope Initiative collecting a total of 663 blankets.
